Job Description: Sponsorship and Outreach Associate (Contractor)
Who We Are
ValleyBike Share is a regional bikeshare system serving Northampton, Chicopee, Springfield, and surrounding areas. Our mission is to provide a sustainable and accessible transportation option that connects communities, reduces environmental impact, and promotes healthier lifestyles. ValleyBike is designed to make biking convenient for commuting, errands, and recreational purposes.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Sponsorship and Outreach Associate to help secure sponsorship funding to sustain and expand the ValleyBike Share system. This role will focus on building relationships with local businesses, corporate sponsors, and community organizations to generate financial support for the program. As a contractor, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the long-term viability and growth of ValleyBike.
Responsibilities
? Conduct outreach to local and regional businesses, organizations, and potential sponsors and form relationships with prominent employers and large donors and foundations in the area.
? Create and review sponsorship material.
? Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors and community stakeholders.
? Keep track of sponsor interactions, agreements, and deliverables to ensure smooth communication and follow-up.
? Develop reports and presentations to showcase sponsorship impact and program performance.
Skills and Qualifications
? Proven experience in sponsorship, sales, or business development
? Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to confidently pitch ideas and build relationships.
? Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
? Experience with crafting sponsorship proposals and identifying mutual benefits for partners.
? Passion for sustainable transportation, community building, or environmental initiatives.
? Incredibly organized and self-motivated.
? Knowledge of the local area and community organizations is a plus.
? Experience fundraising at a nonprofit or foundation role is a plus and will be very applicable to this role
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a results-driven individual who is passionate about making a difference in the community. The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker, enthusiastic about partnership-building, and able to connect ValleyBike’s mission with the goals of potential sponsors. Your work will directly contribute to the growth of a transportation system that benefits residents and visitors alike. You will be the sole person responsible for bringing outside funding into the system. Once you’ve brought in an account, you will have help managing it.
Contract Terms
? Pay Range: $25 to $50/hour, based on your experience level.
? Location: Primarily remote, with occasional in-person meetings or site visits in the Pioneer Valley region.
? Hours: 8–10 hours per week (flexible)
