WGBY to Host 2016 Masterpiece Ball Brisk early ticket sales suggest event likely to sell out again this year. If last year was any indication, those hoping to attend WGBY?s 4th-annual Masterpiece Ball ?Celebrate the Final Season of Downton Abbey would be wise to accomplish three tasks soon: reserve a ticket, and secure a period costume; both ended up being hot (and scarce) commodities leading up to last year?s third annual event. We also advice that you and round up your perfect dinner party companions and fellow dancers for this year?s Ball is on Saturday, January 2, 2016. Guests who attended the 2015 benefit gala can expect some of the same elements in 2016: the elegant atmosphere of The Log Cabin, which will once again host a crowd of 350; a five-course dinner served by footmen prepared by Chef Mick Corduff to match the era in which Downton Abbey, takes place, the 1920s; The Masterpiece Ballroom Orchestra Under the Direction of Jeffrey Holmes; demonstration Ballroom 20?s dancers, a costume contest; a Vignette courtesy of Wistariahurst, a silent auction; and an advance screening of the first hour of the show?s 6th and final season. But like the show itself, which promises new characters and plot devices each season, this year?s Ball will also offer new twists on last year?s sell-out success. For example, guests will all be seated at long Manor tables, enjoy an additional live music experience with vocalist Dawning Holmes, Toastmaster Dan English will present the events own cast of special guests and Downton Stand in Characters. Come discover other surprises and special period experiences at the Ball! Attendees may choose from two ticket levels, General Masterpiece Ball tickets offer Manor Table seating, wine pairings courtesy of Provisions and Humboldt wines, service by liveried footmen, we also encourage attendees to purchase Patron Tickets. Patrons will be cast in the evening?s event cast, be presented to the Ball, welcomed with special VIP gifts and have their picture taken in a Cast Photo! All are invited to the hour-long screening which is free and open to the public. Downton Abbey, Season 6 premieres on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at 9pm on WGBY.
