Description
The wayang is a form of traditional shadow-puppetry from Bali, Indonesia that brings together elements from the island's rich cultural traditions: narrative, theatre, ritual, design, music, movement, and comedy. Putu Rekayasa comes from a long line of puppeteers on Bali's north coast- he was steeped in the art form from birth and now works to push its technical and thematic limits. For this special event, Rekayasa will be joined by theatre artist Sam Gold and the Boston-based ensemble Gamelankemana.
