Description
The Amherst Fire Department is partnering with the UMass Office of Environmental Health & Safety and the Law Firm of Dunn & Phillips to bring the documentary film "After the Fire" to the UMass campus. This Pulitzer prize winning story tells the tale of a devastating and fatal fire that occurred in a residence hall on the Seton Hall University campus in January 2000, and the journey to recovery of two of the most severely injured fire victims after the event. Those two former students, Alvaro Llanos and Shawn Simons will be on hand after the movie to answer questions. Their message is about their personal journey's to recovery, and about preventing similar tragedies in the future.
