Description
Celebrate the second anniversary of Yiddish: A Global Culture and its catalog launch on October 26 with performances, tours, a scavenger hunt, and a lively Q&A! October marks the second anniversary of the Yiddish Book Center’s landmark exhibition Yiddish: A Global Culture. To celebrate, we’re hosting a full day of activities, including the launch of the exhibition’s catalog, Yiddish: A Global Culture: Bold Lives, Boundless Creativity (White Goat Press). Activities throughout the day include: • Pop-up performances throughout the exhibition • Public tours • An all-ages scavenger hunt with prizes The day will conclude with a lively conversation and Q&A with David Mazower, chief curator and writer of the exhibition and catalog, and Lisa Newman, exhibition project director and creative director of the catalog. All events are free and open to the public. Preorder your copy of Yiddish: A Global Culture: Bold Lives, Boundless Creativity This 344-page, full-color catalog features an eight-page gatefold of “Yiddishland,” the exhibition’s sixty-foot mural, along with hundreds of reproductions of artworks, rare artifacts, and other key elements of the exhibition. Introductory essays and a detailed timeline highlight iconic figures, standout creative works, and key moments in the Yiddish world, bringing this remarkable culture and its legacy to life.
