Amherst Irish Association presents the Fifth Event in our 2016/2017 Series. Sunday March 5th from 2-4pm at the Unitarian Church in Amherst. We are honored to host Rabbi Ben Weiner, Jewish Community of Amherst. Rabbi Weiner studied at Trinity College Dublin where he earned a Masters in Irish Literature. He will talk about his experience of living in Ireland, the history of the Jewish community in Ireland, and representations of Jews in Irish literature, including James Joyce's Ulysses. No entry fee – suggest donation $5. Presentation begins at 2pm followed by “Tea & Tunes” from 3-4pm with music by Le Chéile. Complementary tea and scones. Established in 2014, Amherst Irish Association/Cumann Gaelach Amherst is a community-based initiative. Our is aim is to host events that explore aspects of Ireland's diaspora, culture and society.
