12th Annual Bueno Day Benefits CHD’s Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County

Bueno Y Sano Hosts The 12th Annual Bueno Day to Benefit CHD’s Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County
Make a difference just by enjoying a meal at area favorite restaurant

HADLEY — On Monday, June 29th, 2026, five Bueno Y Sano locations in Western Massachusetts will be fundraising for CHD’s Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County. Customers who visit the restaurants during the restaurants’ hours of 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. will be supporting the event just by enjoying a meal. 50% of all sales at Bueno Y Sano locations in Amherst, Northampton, South Deerfield, Springfield, and West Springfield will be donated to CHD’s Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County (BBBSHC). This includes dine-in orders, take-out, and Bueno Y Sano gift cards.

The initiative comes from Bob Lowry, founder and owner of Bueno Y Sano restaurants in Western MA, a three-time “BIG”/mentor in the community mentorship program and newly, a “Buddy” in the school-based Lunch Buddy program. So inspired by his experience with BBBSHC, Bob created Bueno Day as a percentage event, which also gives the community the opportunity to see their orders become an investment in a future built on mentorship for the youth of Hampshire County.

CHD's Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County’s Director, Susan Nicastro, remarked that “Bob’s unwavering and extremely generous support of our mission for many years as a donor and mentor is remarkable and deeply appreciated. Bueno Day is a beloved annual tradition here at BBBSHC and provides critical and consistent support of our work to strengthen and inspire youth potential in our community."

This year Bueno Day has reached a 12-year benchmark in dedication to the work and mission of CHD’s Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County. These funds are vital for creating matches and sustaining matches that make a positive impact on youth in the community, such as improved self-confidence, school performance, and emotional well-being.

Since 1975, CHD’s Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County has been fostering friendships built on trust, learning and growth by matching kids in our community with a mentor or “Big” who joins the network of other caring adults in a child’s life. Bigs spend time with their “Little,” creating a valuable connection and empowering the potential inherent within them. Big Brothers Big Sisters- Igniting Potential.
