Description
June 6th is the Grateful Bed Tour!
NORTHAMPTON – In 2025 Cancer Connection is celebrating 25 years of providing vital services and
support to people with cancer. And on Friday, June 6, bring out your tie-dyes and brush off your bootlegs for
a day-long birthday party, a celebration of music, food, community and gratitude - all to raise essential funds
for Cancer Connection. It’s the Grateful Bed Tour!
For our 25th birthday, building on Monte’s Camp Out and Bed In, we’re hitting the road for a one-day tour
through some of the many Valley communities served by Cancer Connection. The Grateful Bed Tour will be
coming to you live from the bed of a new VW ID.Buzz van, starting at Cancer Connection in Northampton,
with stops at WRSI, Share Coffee in Amherst, Greenfield Savings Bank’s flagship in Geenfield, the Shea
Theater in Turners Falls, and ending in Easthampton at Food Truck Friday at Abandoned Building Brewery.
Each stop will feature live music performances, special guests, prizes and surprises (and did we mention
birthday cake at each stop?). Greenfield Savings Bank is generously sponsoring this event, and the one-and-only
Tara Brewster will be our host for all the fun.
We’ll fundraise through sponsorships from local businesses, in person at each venue, on the air with WRSI,
on our website and through an online auction, launching at the end of May, including tickets to live music
shows around Massachusetts (James Taylor at Tanglewood, Young at Heart Chorus at Bombyx, Cyndi Lauper
at the Xfinity Center and more) and passes to a very special Sunday Brunch at Paul & Elizabeth’s.
And every dollar raised helps bring Cancer Connection’s services and programs to more people – and keep
them 100% free of charge. What better way to celebrate 25 years and ensure our future.
“We have so much to celebrate this year, and yet so much more work to do,” said Executive Director
Chelsea Kline. “We love that we can raise needed funds in such a fun, festive way that showcases the
creativity and generosity of our communities.”
Community support will ensure that Cancer Connection’s services keep on Truckin’ and Not Fade Away (we
can’t help ourselves…). To learn more, visit www.cancer-connection.org/grateful-bed-tour.
