Description
The Amherst Area Chamber's Launching Women workshop series continues in 2023, presented by M&T Bank.
Two sessions in one!
Part I: Demystifying Money
Every woman should be comfortable talking about money. It’s easier than ever to overspend and the constant new cycle makes finance seem unapproachable and confusing. The truth is an understanding of basic financial principals and personal psychology are all you need to establish the simple money habits that lead to financial security, no matter your starting point.
Let’s talk about money – no shame no blame.
Featuring Emily Must, Faculty, Isenberg School of Management, UMass Amherst
About Emily: I joined the Sport Management faculty at UMass in the Fall of 2016 and became the Director of Internships in 2018. I teach a variety of courses: Introduction to Sport Management, Sport Leadership, Sport Law, Sport Finance & Business, Sport Policy, and Sport Analytics. I joined the Graduate School faculty in 2018 where I teach also Marketing Strategy in the on-ground MBA and MSBA Programs and in the online MBA program. Lastly, I created and teach the Personal Finance course at UMASS and regular deliver workshops to different groups - this is a passion project of mine and I thoroughly enjoy equipping people with these skills. I co-advise the McCormack Sport Leaders Forum and I am the advisor to the McCormack Student Leaders Club and Women in Sport Management Club. I am on the faculty board for Delta Sigma Pi and the Isenberg Suit Shop. I regularly collaborate with the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce for local consulting projects and chaired countless Independent Studies, Practicums, and Honors projects and theses. As you can tell I am a curious and active person and it’s why I ultimately pursued a career in higher education, I get to be a life-long learner while supporting so many interesting people (you!) find their passion and prepare for it.
Every woman should be managing or co-managing her finances!
Greater knowledge is associated with financial security in retirement.
Know where the Will is, where the life insurance is, where the disability policies are, where the retirement accounts are, are we putting enough away in our retirement accounts, are the beneficiaries up to date, where is the college savings plan, are the estate plan documents up to date?
LET’S TALK ABOUT GOING FROM SURVIVING TO THRIVING
Featuring Kim Pisinski, Counsel with Legacy Counsellors, P.C.

She works with individuals and families creating estate plans that maintain wealth and creating Life Plans and Supplemental Needs Trusts with families who have special needs.
