Position Overview

Feel Good Shop Local is seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and customer-focused Retail Associates to represent our brand and sellers at The Big E, New England’s premier fair. As a Retail Associate, you will be the face of Feel Good Shop Local in the booth, welcoming shoppers, handling transactions, merchandising products, and supporting local makers. You will also serve as the point person for sellers featured in the booth, helping to create a smooth and positive experience for both customers and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Operate the cash register, process customer purchases, and close out the register each evening.
• Perform nightly cash drops at Florence Bank in West Springfield.
• Merchandise and restock the booth throughout each shift, ensuring it is attractive, organized, and ready for the next day.
• Serve as the Feel Good Shop Local representative for sellers in the booth—collecting feedback, addressing concerns, and escalating issues to management when necessary.
• Share product and seller knowledge with customers to create a meaningful and informed shopping experience.
• Encourage shoppers to join our community by signing up for the email newsletter and entering the gift basket giveaway.
• Provide outstanding customer service with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor.

Qualifications

• Prior retail, cashier, or customer service experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable personality.
• Ability to handle cash responsibly and accurately.
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working in a fast-paced event environment.
• Knowledge of or enthusiasm for local businesses, artisans, and shopping small is a plus.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move boxes up to 25 lbs. (stools provided)

Schedule & Pay

• Shifts:
  • Morning: 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Evening: 1:00 PM – 10:00 PM (priority need for nights & weekends)
• Pay: $18/hour
• Perks: Entry ticket and parking provided on days you are scheduled to work.
