Miles For Music!
Miles For Music is a new community race created to connect Amherst and Northampton through movement, live music, and support for two nonprofit venues: The Drake and the Iron Horse. The event brings together runners, walkers, music fans, local businesses, volunteers, and neighbors for a shared experience that celebrates the energy of the Valley and the cultural spaces that help make it feel connected.
All in support of keeping music thriving in the 4-1-3! The Drake and The Iron Horse do more than host great shows, we are gathering spaces, discovery spaces and a big part of what makes this community feel like home.
About Miles For Music
Miles For Music Powered by Bueno Y Sano will be an 8.1-mile point-to-point race, relay, and walk beginning near The Drake in Amherst and following the Norwottuck Rail Trail through Hadley and into downtown Northampton. The route is designed to feel active and celebratory from start to finish, with live music, community partners, volunteers, and race support woven into the experience along the way.
Community Impact
Miles For Music will raise funds for The Drake and the Iron Horse, two nonprofit music venues that help anchor the region’s live music ecosystem. Both venues play an important role in supporting artists, bringing people together, and keeping live music accessible in Amherst and Northampton.
The event also creates a broader community benefit by connecting local businesses, runners, volunteers, donors, and music fans around a shared day of participation. It is designed to support nonprofit live music while also bringing energy into downtown Northampton during Taste of Northampton weekend.
Your support would help make the event stronger, more welcoming, and more connected to the running community from the start.
