This engaging panel discussion is part of the ongoing Business Leadership & Policy Series, a joint venture of the Amherst BID and the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce.
There's no shortage of issues confronting businesses in the heart of Amherst (e.g. parking, street people, online competition, and the natural-gas moratorium). And there is no shortage of ideas about how we can rise to the challenge. Turning those ideas into clear policy proposals is the goal of the Business Leadership & Policy series in general and this first event in particular. The overarching question we aim to answer is this: What practical steps should policy-makers take to ensure that in the years ahead Amherst enjoys a vibrant and prosperous downtown that generates jobs and tax revenue?
Come experience a spirited discussion with panelists Tony Maroulis - UMass External Relations, Geoff Kravitz- Economic Development Director, Town of Amherst, Sharon Povinelli - Hastings Stationers, and Jonathan Welch - Osteria Vespa. Moderated by Peter Vickery, Esq.
