Yidstock: The Festival of New Yiddish Music is returns to the Yiddish Book Center in Amherst, MA! Join us on Friday, July 12 at 5:00 p.m. for a performance by Levyosn, a new quartet specializing in Yiddish song and klezmer. Founded in 2021, the band takes its name from the Ashkenazi Hebrew word for the leviathan, a mythical sea creature traveling the world’s oceans collecting songs, krill, and dreams. Levyosn’s repertoire includes traditional music and original songs presented in intricate arrangements with rich vocal harmonies, as featured on their debut album, Levoysns Lullaby (Borscht Beat, 2023). Levyosn is vocalist/guitarist Adah Hetko, violinist/vocalist Lysander Jaffe, accordionist/vocalist Kaia Berman Peters, and cellist/vocalist Raffi Boden.
