Description
The second annual Amherst Global Village Festival will take place on Saturday, April 11 from 10 am to 5 pm at the Amherst-Pelham Regional High School (21 Mattoon Street). Hosted by the Town of Amherst and many community partners, this free and family friendly event is dedicated to celebrating cultural diversity and promoting inclusivity within the community.
The Amherst Global Village Festival expands upon previous cultural celebrations by bringing together a vibrant array of activities into a single event, including:

Live performances showcasing traditional music and dance.

Food vendors offering cuisine from various cultures.

Local vendors representing diverse crafts and products.

Linguistic Heritage Celebration featuring language-centered performances, workshops, and games.

Youth Market spotlighting young entrepreneurs’ creative products and talents. Please note that all transactions at the Youth Market are cash-only.

Bilingual Storytime.

Activities and games with Amherst Recreation.

Resource tables highlighting various town departments and community groups.

The Town is committed to ensuring this event is accessible and enjoyable for all members of the community. The event space is ADA accessible. There will also be a sensory inclusive space available and equipped with noise canceling headphones, fidget tools, verbal cue cards, weighted lap pads, and more. This event is hosted by the Town of Amherst Department of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, the Amherst Human Rights Commission, and the Amherst-Pelham Regional Public Schools in partnership with the Multilingual Parent Advisory Council, Amherst Business Improvement District (BID), Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Black Business Association of Amherst Area.
Generous contributions from community partners and local businesses make this event possible. Sponsors include Amherst College, Mass Cultural Council, Amherst BID, Amherst Cultural Council, Greenfield Northampton Cooperative Bank, Kuhn-Riddle Architects, Summerlin Floors, and UMass Downtown.
