About Us

Health New England began as a vision – a vision to create a health plan to serve the local community. Formed by Baystate Medical Center, a group of local physicians and two other community hospitals, Health New England was incorporated as a health maintenance organization (HMO) in 1985. On January 1, 1986, Health New England began serving members, and to this day continues to be the most trusted and valued health plan in our community.

Today, as part of Baystate Health, we work hard to earn our reputation for care-excellence every day by providing outstanding service, delivering superior value and by acting as a leading corporate citizen in all our communities.
