What is an internship?
\n\n
An internship is a position within an organization that provides students with professional-level training and/or the opportunity to explore a specific career path. Internships can be offered year-round -- during the fall or spring semesters\, over winter break\, and throughout the summer. During the academic semester\, students may intern either full-time of part-time while continuing to their coursework. Unlike a traditional part-time job\, internships are career focused and built around defined learning objectives. Students apply knowledge gained in the classroom to real-world settings\, developing practical skills and a deeper understanding of their chosen field. Supervisors play an active role by offering guidance\, mentorship\, and ongoing feedback to support the student'\;s learning experience. At the conclusion of the internship\, employers typically provide an evaluation to assess the student'\;s performance and growth.
